Fireside Chat, What's happening with the 3G network - dispelling the myths

For this, our first Fireside Chat of 2025 Vic will be joined by Paul Brislen, CEO of the Telecommunications Forum, to have a free and frank discussion about the pending shutdown of the 3G network in Aotearoa. Many are concerned this will further entrench equity issues, that critical devices reliant on 3G connectivity will cease to connect, that there isn't sufficient coverage of either 4G or 5G to meet the needs of everyone in Aotearoa no matter where they live. Paul will answer all of these questions and help us collectively understand what's happening with 3G and why, what products are in the market and what support will be in place to ensure no one is left behind as a result of this network change. A very hot topic.

Paul Brislen

Paul Brislen is the CEO of the Telecommunications Forum and in a former life was editor of Computerworld newspaper, a columnist for ITP and the chief executive of TUANZ. After spending more than a decade arguing with crazy people about the health “risks” of 3G he’s glad to see the back of it.

This event is a free webinar for the wider ITP community, register here to receive the invitation and connection details prior to the event.
